Darklands

Turning Away From The Light...

Here's a thread where you can bash your head against the monitor and weep in frustration over how this sub-plot or that POV issue is doing your head in.

I'm currently a mere thousand words into a new short story - which is to say, that the easy stuff is written, and the real work is before me.

What are other Darklanders working on?

Utensiphillia - good one.
The one phrase I remember was 'she spread her butter...' and a few references to what he could do with his broccoli. There was a bit of bread punching, too.

I am writing a comedy about a timid youth who is transformed in to a super hero by accident. (fish out of water) Kind of like spiderman. His side kick is a former model turned maid.

Back into writing the Stainless Steel Hammer, pretty much as close as I am going to get to an autobiography - some deeply disturbing and nasty stuff in the book, which makes it a bit difficult to write some days. Should be a good read in the end, I hope.

Ah...the sound of the last word as it hits the page. Finally, I can put the computer aside, extract my brain from SF land and re-insert it into suburban Queensland, taxes to be done, and a desk load of unpaid bills. Oh, yeah, and the bathroom could sure do with a clean. The challenges are far less exotic, the action not nearly as intense, but then again we can't live on the edge 24 hours a day, can we? What's it about? Well, after five Stargate novels, (the last one set in part in Tasmania), I'm back to writing my own stuff, but I have't yet wrapped my brain around a dust-cover blurb. Suffice to say its an SF fantasy horror - ask me again in a couple of months when I get back to it for the obligatory revision. Meanwhile, I'm going to go off and do that other thing that goes hand in hand with writing - read.
